Meetings in Paris - february 2015

 

The UIA Council will meet in Paris on Thursday and Friday 12 and 13 February 2015. The Council is now complete and candidatures for vacant positions have been confirmed. The UIA is happy to welcome Region I representatives from Denmark: Ms. Nathalie Mossin, titular member, and Ms. Annette Blegvad, alternate; from Belgium: Pierre Sauveur, titular member, and Ms. Sylvie Bruyninx, alternate; and Region IIIrepresentatives from Honduras: David Aguilar Paredes, titular member, and HectorGutierrez Drechsel, alternate; from Bolivia: Ms. Rim Safar Sakkal, titular member, andJorge Stratis Antelo, alternate.

 

In addition, during its 17 October 2014 meeting in Santorini, Greece, the UIA Bureau confirmed its appointments for the co-directors of the three UIA permanent commissions: Ms. Kate Schwennsen (USA) & Fernando Ramos (Spain) for the Architectural Education comission; Rick A. Lincicome (USA) & Zhuang Weimin (PR of China) for the Professional Practice commission; and Tomaz Kankler (Slovenia) & Jerzy Grochulski (Poland), for the commission on international architecture and urban planning competitions. Nikos Fintikakis (Greece) was appointed to direct the joint subcommittee of the Education and Practice commissions that will focus on internships and manage the UIA continuing professional development programme. The UIA commissions and work programmes will also meet in Paris between 10 and 12 February 2015.
